 Diwali
Gift Ideas for Diwali
During Diwali, plates
of sweets (mithai), fruits/dry fruits, special homemade snacks,
etc., as well as other articles like jewelry, greeting cards,
etc., are gifted. On the day of Bhaubeej (Bhaidooj), which
proceeds Diwali, brothers give gifts of money, jewelry, etc.,
to sisters. This Diwali, we can give sattvik gifts that will
benefit our loved ones with their sattvik vibrations, as well
as by acting as reminders to do spiritual practice and develop
sattvik/divine qualities. Some such gifts are:
Sattvik images
of Deities: Images containing
maximum principle of the respective deity are helpful in attracting
the deity’s
presence, as well as in activating spiritual emotion during
worship of the image. Click here
for such sattvik images of Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, Lord Rama,
Lord Hanuman, Goddess
Lakshmi, Lord Datta and Lord Krushna. One can print them out
on a color printer and laminate or frame them, or prepare a
greeting card using the image as the cover page of the greeting
card. The message of the greeting can be written inside the
greeting card, as a blank, twopage greeting card would allow.
If making a greeting card with a Deity’s image, keep
the image separate from the greeting card, so that the recipient
does not have to unstaple/forcefully separate and thus, damage/wrinkle
the image, and can use it without any marks/wrinkles.
Chanting
strips (Naampatti’s): Paper strips
with any of seven
chants necessary to remove negative energy obstacles
and make spiritual progress are available with the Sanatan.
Kindly send your order information to sanatan@sanatan.org.
Sattvik greeting card: As with all the other materials
of the Sanatan, this greeting card, too, has been prepared
by
seekers with devotion, as a part of their satseva. Hence, it
is sattvik and emanates chaitanya. This greeting card is free.
It can be downloaded here and can either be e-mailed
or printed out and mailed to loved ones, reminding them, too,
of the true, spiritual purpose of Diwali. |
