Case filed in Court for defamation against journalist Nikhil Wagle and editor, owner, publisher and printer of ‘Dainik Tarun Bharat’

Ponda (Goa) – Journalist Nikhil Wagle had made a derogatory statement against Sanatan Sanstha during a press conference held in the memory of Comrade Govind Pansare on his second death anniversary. In the Kolhapur edition of ‘Dainik Tarun Bharat’ newspaper (dt. 21st February 2017) the statement was published under the title ‘Vicharancha prativaad vicharane karaa (Fight the battle only at intellectual level)’ defaming the Sanstha causing huge harm; therefore, a suit claiming Rs. 10 crores as reimbursement towards the loses was demanded by Sanatan Sanstha’s Managing Trustee Shri. Virendra Marathe, by filing a case against journalist Nikhil Wagle and editor, owner, publisher and printer of ‘Dainik Tarun Bharat’ in Civil Court.

Advocate Ramdas Kesarkar, honorary legal advisor of Sanatan Sanstha had sent a legal notice to them on 7th April 2017, claiming reimbursement of Rs. 10 crores for libel; but the demand was not fulfilled; therefore, Shri. Virendra Marathe has filed a case of defamation with Civil Court (senior level), through ‘Hindutvavadi’ advocates Gajanan Naik, Nagesh Takbhate, Kum. Deepa Tiwari, Sou. Kaveri Rane, Kum. Divya Balehittal, Yogesh Jaltare and Ramdas Kesarkar against editor, publisher and printer Jayawant Mantri, Manoj Balraj Salunkhe, owner Tarun Bharat Daily Pvt. Ltd. along with Nikhil Wagle.
